J.D. Vance has joined the chorus of conservatives who have begun claiming that President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race constitutes a so-called “coup” in the Democratic Party.

In an interview filmed on Saturday with Fox News’s Jesse Watters, a clip of which aired on Fox & Friends Monday morning, Watters asked former President Donald Trump and his newly minted running mate, Vance, the new question plaguing Republicans: “Is it a coup against Joe Biden?” Both of them fumbled their answers.

“Uh, sort of,” Trump said unsure, looking over to Vance for explanation.

Mental Decline according to people like this:

Enacting popular laws and policies that have helped support millions of families and individuals. Brought us back from Covid after some other asshole screwed the pooch. Literally used loopholes to provide aid to countless students and continues to attempt to rock that particular boat constantly. Kept us out of a worse economical recession. Gave us some fantastic memes.

            Actual Mental Decline:

Well I can agree, not simped for Biden, but sure as hell made up a lot of excuses for his mental decline.

It’s a coup for the VP to take over for the President?

Would it be a coup if Biden died today and she became president? That’s literally how it’s supposed to happen according to the constitution.

He’s not saying it to rally up his base, he’s saying it so when the DNC appoints her at the convention the democratic voters get all pissed off because they never cast a vote with her at the top of the ticket. Hopefully, the democrats aren’t as dumb as his party and don’t fall for it. His motivations are not because it’s a coup against them, he’s pretending it’s a coup for the democratic nomination so we get all mad at each other.

They’re trying to launder out the word ‘coup’ so it can’t be used to describe their insurrection.

In a similar fashion, ‘literally’ now means its exact opposite, according to dictionaries like the one that broke English.

Everyone knows a coup is when a candidate steps down and endorses their VP. Biden is still POTUS, with the immense powers of a President, but he has of course been overthrown.

Biden running against Trump and winning legitimately in 2020 they called a coup too, and they said Jan 6th wasn’t one. At some point they just show they don’t understand the meaning of the word.

I was joking just a few days ago that all those folks still flying “Trump - Pence” signs from 2020 or the really faded ones from 2016 just need to change the “PE” to “VA” and they’re good for another 4 years of sun bleaching.

Biden’s decision to step down isn’t in any way an acknowledgement that he is unfit to serve it is more so a decision right or wrong that he would lose whether it be for his poor performance at the debate, gaffes, or age. With the Democrats pushing in the same direction this could have become a self fulfilling prophesy.

There is no reason to believe he can’t both stay in office AND step down in favor of Harris. It has always been acknowledged that parties have a broad latitude to select their candidate and ultimately the people will decide.

Personally, I don’t think he can hold it in until the election.
