The movie flops because Todd took it too far for general audiences.

The movie is great imo.
The movie is not good for general audiences.
I watched “The People’s Joker” after hearing it was good. And it was… rough cut. I definitely understand most people wouldn’t be down to watch it based on the budget alone. I also thought it was a bit sappy and formulaic in execution. But it resonated with a certain group of people.
Sometimes the movie legit isn’t “for you”. Not even if it’s got your favorite comic book characters in it.
I was pretty meh on the first one so I don’t really have a ton of interest in seeing it
