Oh yes, love satisfactory too. Factorio is significantly deeper but maybe less “fun” at times. They both scratch a similar itch!

for sure! i cant wait for the full release of satisfactory, i feel like theyd be closer. but both games are fun for different things, factorio has many more mechanics and is a lot more polished, but satisfactory can get absolutely insane, too.

2.5D endless procedurally generated train conductor sim Cab Ride

    https://powersaurus.itch.io/cab-ride

Drive a train, forever, through a dreamlike land.

    Transport passengers to their destination.

    Watch the world go by.

Listen to chilled out chiptune music.

In Cab Ride you can drive thousands of different train routes through rolling hills, winding tunnels and weaving between the tall buildings of vast cities. You can drive the train for as long as you like. When you’re ready to end your journey, hold down the left arrow key to announce the last station. Stopping at stations along the way means you can pick up and drop off passengers. Try and stop at the marker at each station for a high rating. Or don’t! It’s up to you.

Cab Ride is a casual train simulation, not aiming for real world accuracy, but like a real train, it takes a while to brake. If you’re overshooting stations, watch for the alert for the next station and reduce the throttle so you’re ready to stop.

twee hand-drawn cat village tram conductor “interactive illustration” Short Trip

    https://alexanderperrin.itch.io/short-trip

Hello! It’s your turn to operate the scenic railway. The local town cats would love to join you for the ride too, if that’s ok.

Short Trip is the first instalment in a collection of interactive illustrations created for the web. It has been created as a study into capturing the essence of graphite on paper within a digital context, and to learn more about web-based graphics technologies. Short Trip will run on most devices supporting WebGL, including mobile devices.

Never played that one, but the train is a great way to get to 5 stars in V – cops think that since you’re not in a car, you must be a pedestrian, so they park their vehicles and get out. When they send out the helicopters, you’ll want to be on a low car ahead of a tall one so you can alternate between shooting at them and taking cover. Not dying is pretty easy; the challenge is racking up kills quickly, because you always lose all your stars in a tunnel.

Minecraft with the Create mod lets you make factories and coordinate logistics to move materials from one to another with a rail network, and you can build the trains yourself block by block (including steam whistles)! It’s the most immersive train game IMO because you get to set up ever little detail, every signal every junction up to your needs.

Any time bees come up in any context my gaming buddies start telling stories about that one time I succumb’d to bee madness in an old mod pack.

Haha I remember I once streamed a base showcase to my friends and when I had to explain that the power generation for my world eating quarry came from an array of magical bees hooked up to machines that would harvest their honey, I can now never escape the capitalist allegations.

There are a variety of minecraft rail mods. I really like railcraft as it lets you build your own train hold/waiting logic. Some others are immersive railroading and maincraft transit railway.

I’m glad to see someone else thought to mention the Create mod when faced with this question, however, one must also mention the addon mod Create: Interactive, it would in theory allow you to create a self-perpetuating giant train base that drills its path forward, creates more rail in a built in production line with the drilled stone and deploys it automatically. Let’s not forget the one addon specifically made to expand the train system as well. train-shining

Workers and Resources has a great train sim. The game’s simulation is pretty intense though so if all you want to think about is trains then it’s not a great pick.

Going to mention Choo Choo Charles, probably the weirdest train game.

And also Voidtrain, which is about building a train as you explore endless train tracks through the void. It’s been a few months since I played but it was pretty content-light back then. Cool premise, just needs a lot of fleshing out.

What’s that other one. Unrailed! is a neat coop game where you have to mine resources to build a train track for your little always-moving train.
