Ever since I started working in social work, I’ve completely stopped giving a shit about cheating. A good amount of the time I’m helping people cheat various systems to get what they need cause social assistance is so fucked they have to cheat it.

I think this is a problem western people rarely understand because the concept of dualism in western philosophy is so rare. It creates a system of logical determinism that forces the thinker into black and white thinking.
In the east “cheating” can be seen as a negative, while at the same time understanding that if cheating is how the people at the top rose to their position, then it is implicitly part of the system. Meaning that the true competition is between the people who can cheat the most while not seeming to cheat at all.

It has to do with their culture. Chinese culture is very cutthroat and survival of the fittest. It makes people have the mindset of doing anything they can to win or be successful, even if it means cheating. It’s not just video games. They have a huge problem with it in their education system, as well.
